Hotel Sogo Launches ₱100K Dance Showdown for Filipino Crews

“SOGO DANCE REVOLUTION” spotlights talent, unity, and energy through a nationwide group competition

In a move that merges entertainment, inclusivity, and brand excitement, Hotel Sogo has officially launched the SOGO DANCE REVOLUTION—a nationwide dance competition open to groups of four to eight members, aged 18 and above, offering ₱100,000 worth of prizes in cash and staycation perks.

Designed as the hotel’s biggest campaign for 2025, the SOGO DANCE REVOLUTION is not just a contest—it’s a nationwide celebration of dance, teamwork, and Filipino creativity.

A Digital-First Dance Challenge

To join, dance crews must produce a 30–60 second video featuring original, creative, and family-friendly choreography. Entries should be posted on TikTok, Facebook, or Instagram, with the caption:

“We’re joining the SOGO DANCE REVOLUTION! Support our entry by liking and sharing! #SogoDanceRevolution #HotelSogo #SogoDanceShowdown”

The video must tag @hotelsogo and be set to public. All members must follow Hotel Sogo’s official social media pages, and the group must register via an online form or QR code available at any Hotel Sogo branch nationwide.

The deadline for submission is September 5, 2025.

Judging and the Grand Finals

• From all valid entries, top-performing groups will be selected based on the following criteria:

• Social Media Engagement – 30%
• Creativity & Overall Look – 20%
• Confidence & Energy – 10%

These finalists will advance to a Grand Finals Showdown, where they will perform live before a panel of celebrity judges and a cheering crowd.

Prizes include a grand champion title, a possible official ambassadorship, and a share of the ₱100,000 prize pool. One group will also receive a Special Award for Most Engaged Group, based on social media virality and shares.

Sogo started installing 3M Filtrete™ 3-in-1 Technology Aircon Filters in all rooms to augment its regular aircon filters. These are made with permanently-charged electrostatic fibers that remove Microparticle pollutants that include fine dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke, bacteria, and viruses, resulting in cleaner air.

UVC Disinfection

Hotel Sogo is also implementing ultraviolet light technology for sanitizing cash registers, keycard cases, elevator buttons, and its ceiling, room door handles, as well as in food preparation for enhanced cleaning and disinfection processes.

With the use of UVC-light for disinfection, you are safe to stay at any Hotel Sogo branches as UVC cleans 99.99% of harmful pathogens, bacteria, and viruses in seconds.

No-Contact Hotel Features

As we develop more changes this new normal, Hotel Sogo has innovated all its branches in having no-contact facilities like a contactless thermal detector,  automatic doors, and developed the use of SaniKey for door handles, elevators buttons, and ATMs to lessen contact points and reduce the risk of virus transmission.

Hotel Sogo Stay Safe Campaign and New Normal Playbook Preview

With over 00 rooms, 10 cities, 31 hospitals, and over P80M value. Hotel Sogo, the leading hotel chain in the Philippines is now ready to leap into the new normal as part of its So Clean, So Good, So Safe campaign under the Sogo Safe Program that aims to secure the safety of its employees and guests.

Hotel Sogo continuously implements precautionary measures such as temperature checking upon entering the hotel, placement of alcohol and hand sanitizers in common areas, and information dissemination on COVID-19 since December 2019.

Hotel Sogo is the first to provide free room accommodations that served as a temporary shelter to healthcare workers and frontliners. A total of P80-million worth of donation or more than 800 room accommodations were given to healthcare workers, OFWs, and seafarers repatriates for free This is in coordination with 10 city mayors and 31 hospitals in the country.

Enhanced cleaning and sanitation have been applied in all its branches. Hand Sanitizers in common areas. Constant disinfection in all amenities is also implemented.

Uniforms of the hotel staff are redesigned to incorporate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Studies show that the use of UVC, with wavelengths between 200 and 270 nanometres (nm), can kill microbes, germs, bacteria, and viruses. This has been adopted since the use of UVC is done in recent years and is also used in disinfecting hospitals as UVC kills pathogens and microorganisms.

Constant disinfection in all amenities is also implemented. No-contact facilities from lobby doors to toilet fixtures thru installing foot door opener and foot-controlled dispenser.

Hotel Sogo has created newly designed giveaways for guests such as no contact keys and sanitizers. The no-contact key serves as a tool in touching common objects like door handles, elevator buttons, and ATMs.

Hotel Sogo Mobile app is also up for contact tracing.

Our health workers and frontliners who bravely sacrifice their lives and face difficulties during this uncertain time. With the prolonged Luzon-wide lockdown, Hotel Sogo realizes, even more, the importance of their core value –Pagmamalasakit. Even though a lot of businesses have closed down, Hotel Sogo continued its support to the frontliners and LGUs who risk fighting against COVID-19.

As of now Hotel Sogo, the largest hotel chain in the Philippines has provided over 850 hotel room accommodations with a value of PhP 60 million for the frontline medical workers from 11 hospitals in different key cities in the country. Ten Hotel Sogo branches are dedicated to doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other healthcare providers who need a place to rest and sleep until the end of the quarantine phase, for free.

Meanwhile, in cooperation with the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM), Hotel Sogo Alabang branch, just minutes away from RITM, is fully occupied by our fellow frontliners for easier access to safe accommodation and to get the right amount of rest from everyday’s fight against COVID-19.

It all started with the company’s coordination to Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno in providing temporary shelter for our healthcare workers particularly living outside the city since mass transportation is suspended.

The hotel management has also been in touch with the local government of Muntinlupa, especially with Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, in providing the necessary measures in taking care of the city’s frontliners.

Hotel Sogo is closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak as the management makes sure and strictly implements firm measures and enhanced cleaning protocols to prevent the transmission of the said virus.
