LifeWave Helps Showcase Modern Approach to Wellness



In much of the world, the idea of wellness has long been roughly the same as the concept of being free from illness. While this is certainly a key component of being well, the modern reimagining of wellness has developed past this point, to an interpretation that takes a more holistic idea of wellbeing into account. 

With this framework in mind, the CEO developed the line of wellness products for which his company has become known — its phototherapy patches. These topically applied patches utilize the power of specific wavelengths of light to reflect energy into a user’s body. Depending on the placement and design of the patch, each one can have different wellness benefits. For instance, the first patch designed by the company, the Energy Enhancer Patch, was created to help promote energy levels and increase a user’s stamina. Company background
To better understand the ways in which the company operates, it’s helpful to first look at its history to see how it came about. LifeWave was founded in 2004 by CEO David Schmidt. At that time, the CEO had already made a name for himself through more than 30 years of work in the field of business and development. With an undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems and Biology from Pace University, he spent much of his early professional life pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors in the fields of manufacturing and product development. 

Schmidt’s efforts in this area included work to design new ways to synthesize elements, a concept for a bladeless turbine, and even a combustion rocket engine. Based on the strength of these ideas he was invited to work on the Navy’s next generation of mini-subs. David’s work on this project centered around the goal of helping service members maintain high levels of energy without the need for stimulants or other chemicals. In this pursuit, he was motivated by finding a method that was effective but didn’t come with unwanted side effects or negative health consequences.





Fighting aging
A decline in wellness is not caused solely by disease or other conditions, it can also be the natural result of aging. While aging is, of course, a normal part of life, there’s plenty of interest these days going towards how we can help to mitigate the negative aspects of the process. As many people are living longer, they’re looking for ways to increase the longevity of their wellness rather than just their overall age.

Marvin Tiu Lim, Michelle Tiu Lim-Chan, Chris Fernandez, executives of the Mega Global conglomerate, alongside Dawn Marie Cabigon, founder and director of Reach Out Feed Philippines were present in the event to discuss how the Mega Bigay Sustansya program will bring long-term gains to its program beneficiaries.

Mega Bigay Sustansya (MBS) is a CSR program led by the Mega Tiu Lim Foundation that hopes to give a meal planning and distribution program to over 881 children nationwide. The program has supported children in six provinces nationwide for sixty days. Children ages 4 to 12 have received house-to-house delivery of meals every day that included at least one sardines meal, made using Mega Global’s nutrient-packed high quality sardines.

On top of the updates on Mega Global’s MBS program, Mega Global executives have also shared in the discussion how they strived to continue elevating the sardine industry through innovations and the building of new infrastructures. These expansions would maintain the double digit growth of the company in 2022, allow it to create a more sustainable avenue in producing their products, as well as create new products that will surely be a hit to its customers. 

For the past 46 years, Mega Global has been leading the way in supporting Filipino communities through its investments in the sardine industry, which has provided job opportunities for thousands of Filipinos. The company continued to upgrade its Zamboanga facility, where its state-of-the-art operations, including its can-making plant and offices, are based. As part of its sustainability endeavors, it is using solar energy for its warehouses. 

Mega Global also discussed details about a new plant in Batangas that will be opened next year. Located in Sto. Tomas, Batangas, it will house state-of-the-art technology in manufacturing using sustainable energy sources and is expected to help add dynamism to the economy as it continues to recover from the effects of the pandemic.




Mega SardinaSaya: Game Show Bonanza
On November 24, Mega Global will also be celebrating the National Sardines Day with an online game show bonanza. Kicking this off is an Instagram and Facebook challenge that will determine the players for the much-awaited Pera or Sardinas game during the online event which will be broadcasted live on Mega Sardines’s Facebook page and Shopee app. 

The game show bonanza will have three major segments representing the tagline of Mega Sardines: Sarap, Saya and Sustansya. For the Sarap segment, Mega Sardines’ ambassadress Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo will do a cooking demo that will serve as an introduction of new dishes that mommies can easily create for their loved ones. 



For the Sustansya segment, the audience can learn about the Mega Bigay Sustansya program, the company’s nationwide feeding program being undertaken in communities around the country with the help of its partner, Reach Out Philippines Foundation.

Lastly, there will be a series of virtual games for the Saya segment where fun games such as Pera or Sardinas, Call A Ka-Mega, and Trivia Game will be available for the audience to participate in. There will also be a grand raffle, where they have the chance to take home a wide selection of prizes.

For added fun, Mega Sardines is launching a Tiktok Challenge where participants can show off their moves and have some fun in the process of creating videos to win prizes. Mega Prime and Prime Mom Club help mothers have a Paskong Easy Sarap with its holiday workshop




There’s no better time to go all out in celebration than Christmas. With family members coming together to celebrate what is the most loved holiday of the year, our Prime Moms are always looking forward to making it the most memorable celebration ever. 

All over the world, it is known that the way we celebrate Christmas in the Philippines is truly unique, and some may say that Paskong Pinoy is the best. As such, we want to help make Filipino moms shine even brighter this season by going back to our roots by creating twists on well-loved Pinoy handa and decor. Mega Prime and Prime Mom Club made this happen by organizing the Paskong Easy Sarap workshop, which offered moms new recipes and a DIY holiday decor that will surely make for a memorable Christmas.

Learn Easy-to-Prepare Dishes in Hanabishi & Mega Prime’s LazLive Cooking Demos on Sept. 26 & 30


Hanabishi Appliances and Mega Prime Global team up once more for a LazLive cooking demonstration on September 26 at 6:00 PM and September 30 at 5:30 PM. Both events will be live streamed on Hanabishi’s official Facebook account.

Learn how to prepare beef pares using an electric pressure cooker and homemade pizza with an air fryer oven.

The Hanabishi Air Fryer Oven HAFEO23SS, meanwhile, has a 23-liter capacity and adjustable thermostat. It has six functions: air fry, boil, bake, toast, convection broil, and convection bake. It also comes with a rotisserie. It has a pure stainless steel housing, and includes an air fryer basket, baking pan, and oven rack.

Vote Pilipinas and Youth Leaders Rally For Youth Vote, Visayas Vote at Latest Magparehistro Ka!


Vote Pilipinas, the official voter registration information campaign of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), held the second of its three-part town hall series on July 30, 2021, which aims to educate Filipinos to register to vote. Over various online platforms, the Magparehistro Ka Town Hall, in partnership with Smart Communications, gathered COMELEC officials and youth representatives to appeal to those living in the Visayas region and to the younger generation. The virtual event took place just as we hit the two-month mark on the deadline to register for the 2022 national and local elections by September 30, 2021.


The featured keynote speaker was no other than COMELEC Commissioner Aimee P. Ferolino, who spoke in the local dialect and reminded those in the Visayas that registration was a precursor to voting. This was preceded by opening remarks from Vote Pilipinas founder Ces Rondario, who initially started the campaign as a passion project. COMELEC was also represented by Director Frances Aguindadao-Arabe, who presented the latest numbers on voters in the Visayas region. From her report, COMELEC recorded a total of 893,448 voter registrants from Regions VI, VII, and VIII from September 2020 until July 24, 2021. Also heeding that call to register were Election Officers Krishna Athena Elardo, Omar Sharif Mamalinta, and Dainty Calagos, who were ready to answer any questions on the registration process and data. It was also revealed that those in the Visayas regions need not travel far to register, as one can now register at the following Robinsons Malls: Robinsons Place Ormoc, Robinsons Place Cebu, Robinsons Cybergate Cebu, Robinsons Place Dumaguete, Robinsons Place Bacolod, Robinsons Place Tacloban, Robinsons Place North Tacloban, Robinsons Place Roxas, and Robinsons Place Antique.


Appealing to the youth was host, speaker, and Miss Cebu 2016 Raine Baljak, who said, We must fight long and hard for what we believe in our own way, like a drop of water into the vast ocean. Voting is our right to be heard, and when you vote, you're voting for the people who come before you and who come after you.” She, too, raised some of her personal questions on voters’ registration. Joining her in this case was a roundtable of youth leaders, including Hannah Felix of Abot PH, Carlo Bais of the University of St. La Salle Bacolod Student Council, Janneloise Baylon of the Union of Progressive Students, Jet Luga of Global Shapers Cebu, and Enniss Pareja of Global Shapers Iloilo.


During the program, Vote Pilipinas had announced its newest partners, with some representatives speaking on why they had chosen to partner and what this cause meant to them. The evening capped off closing remarks from Aguindadao-Arabe and the release of the second Magparehistro Ka video, plus announcement of the Magparehistro Ka Challenge, which incentivizes newly registered voters by awarding them with weekly prizes after they post about the importance of registering.


The Vote Pilipinas Campaign is a passion project executed by a team of like-minded individuals driven by the desire to contribute to impacting change in the Philippines. It is a non-profit and non-partisan initiative designed to increase the number of voter registration. With both an online and offline approach, the campaign aims to provide accessible and verifiable information to ensure that Filipinos are updated with news concerning the upcoming 2022 elections. This campaign will run until the elections in 2022 and it aims to target the first time voters and other unregistered voters by providing innovative ways to encourage people to register, and to vote.
